SnapValue ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: Email address, name, and password (hashed) when you create an account.
• Photos: Images you take or select for scanning. Photos are sent to our servers for AI processing and are not stored permanently on our servers — only the identification results and price estimates are saved.
• Scan Data: Item identification results, price estimates, and scan history associated with your account.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and debugging.
• Purchase Information: Subscription status is managed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To identify items from photos using AI (OpenAI GPT-4o Vision)
• To provide resale price estimates across marketplaces
• To maintain your scan history and item collection
• To manage your account and subscription
• To improve our service and fix bugs

3. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI: We send your scanned images to OpenAI's API for item identification. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing. Images are not used by OpenAI for training.
• Apple App Store: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. We receive subscription status updates but never your payment details.
• RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user ID and subscription state.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

5. Your Rights

• Access: You can view all your data within the app.
• Deletion: You can request account deletion by contacting us at snapvaluesupport@gmail.com. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
• Export: You can export your collection data as CSV from the app.

6. Children's Privacy

SnapValue is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app.
